Many in the field of self-development mention ‘be here now’, and with good reason; being fully present in your life is the first step to living your life instead of merely going through the motions.

There is, however, more to living passionately from the depth of your being.

The Next Step

Similar to ’stepping up to the plate’, stepping up indicates a non-passive willingness.  Sort of an “I am ready” to the universe.

This step is absolutely crucial to living your purpose and living on purpose.  Why?  Because it sets your intention.  In stepping up to the universe, to your life, you are confronting it - in all its complexity and grandeur.

Step Up

‘Confrontation’ has a bad connotation - argument, surly, aggressive - yet all it means is to ‘face’ or be present for, to encounter.

Stepping up means taking responsibility, before the fact.  Call it ’step up’ or ‘man up’, they both mean taking responsibility for yourself and they mean that you are no longer a passive passenger in your life.

I Choose, Therefore I am

Often people think that they have to decide whether they are responsible for something, like parenthood.  The reality is that you are responsible.

The only question remains whether you are honest with yourself and willing to accept that responsibility.  You choose whether you willingly accept the responsibility of being a parent, but the reality is that you are already responsible for a new life coming into the world.

Can you see now the absolute power of choice?

Living Your Purpose, With Purpose

1.  Be here, now.  Be aware of your existence and mindful of your self.  Be fully engaged in reality, as it is, not as you would wish it to be.

2.  Step up, now.  Be open to the universe, to your life, with a non-passive willingness.

3.  Choice, in every moment.  Choose to be authentically you, in every moment.  Make the choice to open your heart, without conditions or preconceptions.  Stop living in, or anticipating, or fearing the future.  Choose conscious, purposeful living.

Then choose to tell me about it!  What are you choosing for your self and your life?
