As I edge ever closer to the big 3-0, it is becoming more and more apparent that some women have a much harder time with turning 30 than turning 40.  (One woman I know is so fearful, that being 29 is stressing her out for a whole year because then she turns 30!)

It never occurred to me that anyone would have a problem turning 30.  Sandra Bullock and Charlize Theron are both in their 30s, Cate Blanchett is 39, and Monica Bellucci is in her 40s.  If Monica Bellucci isn’t hot, then no one is no matter how young they are.

This time the manival is being presented by aGoodHusband (”help for married men, hope for married women”) and it’s chock full of manly goodness.

Not only is PersistentIllusion’s “When Husbands Make You Bossy” featured, but so is “Man Up: The Art of Marital Conversation” from Corey Allen over at The Simple Marriage Project!

The PersistentIllusion editorial board is celebrating my birthday, the day of my birth, the beginning of my life…TODAY.

The really great thing about birthdays is that it gives you the opportunity to think about where you have been and where you are going.  Check in, so to speak, about how you have been living your life.

I invite all of you, dear readers, to celebrate today with me because, not only is it the celebration of my life, it is the celebration of yours as well.  It’s amazing how no one on this planet can have our experience or opportunities.

Carpe diem!

Let’s make the most of every moment, because the person we are now and the opportunities we have today, will be different than the person of tomorrow, of next week, or next year.  So, happy birthday to me - and very definitely you!

Let’s make this the year of BEING OURSELVES…because no one else can be.

And let’s heed the words of a legend:

Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of somebody else.

-Judy Garland
